Datang Zhuzhou Power Generation Co., Ltd. is a state-owned energy supply guarantee core enterprise under China Datang Group. In February 2026, its 2 × 1 million kilowatt capacity expansion and upgrading project was fully completed and put into operation. Its predecessor, Zhuzhou Power Plant, was one of the 156 key projects assisted by the Soviet Union in the "First Five Year Plan". The first unit was put into operation in 1957, and the old plant has been expanded multiple times. In 2003, the total installed capacity expanded to 870000 kW, making it the largest thermal power plant in Hunan Province.
